Terms & Conditions
What you can expect from Beffer, and what we need from you.
Last updated: August 4, 2026
1. Who we are
Beffer Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 16025445, registered office 5 Hanselin Court, Gedling, Nottingham, NG4 3LS. In these terms, “Beffer”, “we” and “us” mean Beffer Ltd. “Piper” means the AI assistant we provide. “You” means the business using the service.
These terms form the agreement between us. By joining the waitlist or using the service, you accept them.
2. This is a beta service
Beffer is currently in limited beta. That means:
- We take on a small number of businesses at a time, and set each one up by hand
- Joining the waitlist does not guarantee you a place, or a date
- Features may change, and some may be withdrawn
- The service may be less reliable than a fully released product
We will be straight with you about what works and what does not. In return, please tell us when something goes wrong.
3. The waitlist
Joining the waitlist is free and commits you to nothing. We collect your details so we can contact you when a place opens. Nothing is charged, and no card is taken, until you have spoken to us and agreed to go ahead. You can ask to be removed at any time by emailing hello@beffer.co.uk.
4. What the service does
Depending on your plan, Piper may:
- Answer calls to your business, take details and send you a summary
- Filter out spam and cold calls
- Read your inbox, sort it by urgency and draft replies
- Draft or create quotes from the details of an enquiry and your price book
- Follow up on quotes and chase unpaid invoices by email, SMS and phone
- Keep a record of your customers, jobs, quotes and invoices
What is included on each plan is set out on our pricing page.
5. Setting up
Setup is done by hand and normally takes 24–48 hours from the point we have what we need from you. We will ask about your trade, your coverage area, how you price, and how you want quotes and invoices chased. The more accurate that information, the better Piper works. Setup may take longer if we are waiting on something from you.
6. Prices and billing
- While the service is in beta there is a single plan at £295 per month, including everything described on our pricing page.
- We may change our prices for new customers at any time. Any change to your own price will be notified in advance under clause 6 below.
- Lead volume is not guaranteed unless separately agreed in writing.
- Where a ranked lead site is provided, it is licensed to you for the term of your subscription and remains the property of Beffer Ltd. Exclusivity applies to one business per trade per agreed area.
- Prices exclude VAT.
- Billing is monthly in advance, from the date your service goes live.
- There are no per-minute call charges, no setup fees and no minimum term.
- You can move between plans at any time. Changes take effect from your next billing date.
- We may change our prices. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email, and you may cancel before the new price applies.
7. Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from your dashboard or by emailing us. There are no exit fees. Your service runs until the end of the period you have paid for, and we do not refund part months unless we have got something badly wrong. On request we will export your customer data and then delete it.
8. Quotes — please read this one
Piper drafts quotes from the information she gathers and the rates you give us. You are responsible for every quote that goes out under your name.
- On all plans, quotes are drafted for your approval by default. Nothing is sent until you approve it.
- On the Pro plan you may choose to let quotes send automatically from your price book. If you turn that on, you accept the risk of a price going out without you having seen it.
- Piper can make mistakes. She can mishear a measurement, misread an email, or price from an out-of-date rate. Check before you approve.
- We are not liable for a quote that is too low, too high, or wrong, whether or not you approved it.
Keeping your price book accurate and up to date is your responsibility.
9. Piper is not an emergency service
Piper can flag a call as urgent and notify you quickly, but she cannot attend a job and does not replace the emergency services. If someone reports a gas leak, a fire, a flood or a risk to life, they must call 999, or the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999. You are responsible for making sure your customers know how to reach you, or the emergency services, outside the hours you work.
10. Your phone number and your inbox
You keep your existing number and forward calls to Piper. Setting up and paying for that forwarding is down to you and your telephone provider. You can turn forwarding on and off whenever you like.
If you connect your inbox, you confirm you are entitled to give us access to it. If the mailbox is shared with other people, tell them.
11. Your responsibilities
- Give us accurate information, and keep it up to date
- Tell your customers that calls to your business may be answered by an automated assistant and recorded
- Make sure any chasing or marketing messages you ask Piper to send are ones you are lawfully allowed to send
- Keep your account details secure
- Use the service only for your own lawful business
Do not use the service to send unsolicited marketing, to harass anyone, to impersonate another business, or in any way that breaks the law. We may suspend or close an account that does.
12. Availability
We aim to keep Piper answering around the clock, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Telephone networks, email providers and our own suppliers can all fail. We will tell you about planned maintenance where we can. We are not liable for calls or enquiries missed during an outage, though if the service is materially unavailable for a sustained period we will discuss a fair credit.
13. Results
Any figures on our website, including the savings calculator, are illustrations based on numbers you enter. They are not a forecast or a promise. We do not guarantee more enquiries, more work won, or faster payment.
14. Data protection
How we handle personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy. In short: you are the controller of your customers’ information and we are your processor. Where UK GDPR requires a written processing agreement, these terms and the Privacy Policy form it, and we will sign a separate data processing agreement on request.
15. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Subject to that, and because this is a business-to-business service:
- We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of contracts or loss of anticipated savings
- We are not liable for work you did not win, or customers you did not keep
- Our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period
These terms do not affect the statutory rights of a consumer. This service is sold to businesses, so consumer rights will not usually apply.
16. Changes
We may change these terms. If a change materially affects you we will give at least 30 days’ notice by email, and you may cancel before it takes effect.
17. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
